Our daughter (year 4) was really struggling at school and finding it very hard to keep up with the curriculum. After being assessed we discovered that she had dyslexia which affected her working memory very badly, which was why she was finding the work so hard. She would learn something and then the next time she would do it, she couldn’t remember. This was so frustrating for her and also for us trying to work with her.
When Samantha came to us, we were really at a point where we had run out of ideas. Luckily for us, Samantha had lots! She began working with our daughter and within a matter of weeks we could see the progress. Not only was she understanding the work much better but she was also enjoying it much more too. Samantha taught her lots of tricks on how to remember things and if one way wasn’t working, she was quick on hand with another.
We had always planned to have Samantha for just a year but we were so impressed we didn’t want to let her go. Now it’s been two and a half years and our daughter is about to sit her SATS, yet isn’t bothered in the slightest. She’s looking forward to putting all the skills she learnt into practice and it’s all down to Samantha. We were very sad to say goodbye and only wished she tutored for high school too!

After my daughter had a bad start at school during the Reception year, I decided to look into getting her a tutor. Miss Baxter was a perfect match for my daughter. She went back to basics with her and over time my daughter started to really enjoy her lessons. She found them fun and was rewarded for good work. She has gained confidence in her writing and spelling and also different aspects of her maths.
Miss Baxter is always prompt for her lessons and has never cancelled. I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Samantha is a very professional and friendly tutor. She assesses your child's needs then works through them at their pace. She is very reliable and punctual. Samantha will discuss what has been completed at the end of each lesson and will discuss what will be worked on next, therefore always keeping you fully informed. Homework will be set if required.
Overall, an excellent tutor who will put your child's education first.
Mrs McG, mum of an 11yr old boy in Hesketh Bank
Miss Baxter tutored my son whilst he was in year 4 to year 6 in order to increase his literacy skills in preparation for his SATs test. I found her to be punctual, organised and trustworthy, and she ensured that she planned the sessions to build upon what my son had covered the previous week to ensure he made steady progress. She had a very good rapport with my son, and through the use of praise and rewards, he never found his extra sessions a chore. He achieved very well in his SATs and both my wife and I agree that this was thanks in no small part to the extra weekly input given by Miss Baxter. Would highly recommend her to other parents.
